Home Safety Tips

  • Test smoke detectors monthly and replace batteries twice a year
  • Create and practice a home fire escape plan with two exits from every room
  • Never leave cooking unattended and keep flammable items away from the stove
  • Have chimneys and heating equipment inspected and cleaned annually
  • Keep space heaters at least 3 feet away from anything that can burn
